The Raiders have played well in the first month of the season despite their 1-3 record. They’ve had a number of players stand out through the first four games, specifically on defense.
So have been their best players so far this season? Here are the five highest-graded players for the Raiders through the first four weeks of the season, according to Pro Football Focus:
1. DE Maxx Crosby – 90.7
2. RB Josh Jacobs – 81.4
3. CB Nate Hobbs – 81.3
4. WR Davante Adams – 77.0
5. TE Foster Moreau – 70.9
This list features mostly the players you would expect. Maxx Crosby and Davante Adams are two of the highest-paid players at their respective position and both have had monster starts to the year.
Josh Jacobs is a former first-round pick at running back and has always graded out well with PFF. He is having the best start to his career as he looks fresh and healthy. He has established himself as the workhorse back in Las Vegas and is on pace to touch the ball 350 times this season.
It’s also not a surprise to see Nate Hobbs on the list as the second-year cornerback has taken a major leap in Year 2. Instead of playing only in the slot, Hobbs is now moving all over the field and has emerged as one of the NFL’s top cornerbacks.
The only real surprise here is that three of their other highest-paid players (Derek Carr, Chandler Jones, Darren Waller) don’t appear on the list. All three players have struggled some out of the gate, but there is nothing to be overly concerned about after the first month of the season.
