DaVante Adams asks for mock up of Kevin Durant in Raiders gear and the internet obliges

The big news of the day is that USC and UCLA are leaving the Pac-12 for the BigTen. The other big news of the day is NBA star Kevin Durant demanding a trade from the Brooklyn Nets. The All Star forward won an NBA title in Oakland as a member of the Golden State Warriors, so there’s a great many Raiders fans who once rooted for him. One of the newest Raiders is DaVante Adams who himself demanded a trade this offseason. Upon the news of Durant’s trade demand, Adams took to twitter with a request to have Durant photoshopped alongside Adams, Darren Waller, and Hunter Renfrow. Twitter didn’t disappoint him. Here you go boss pic.twitter.com/1oHmj7yT4y — Jacob Tracy (@JacobSeanTracy) June 30, 2022 Gotchu bro pic.twitter.com/LQBCVmePbZ — JT (@CondorSZN) June 30, 2022 This would be a super team if it were the NBA. Not unlike the one KD was with when he was part of back-to-back NBA Championship teams alongside Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson. As it happens, the latter three are still members of the Warriors and just hoisted the trophy for a fourth time, beating a Celtics team that swept the Nets in the first round of the playoffs. In the NFL, however, it usually takes more than three or four superstars to win it. Though it’s still possible providing one of those superstars is the quarterback. Email Sign up Like this article? Raiders LB unit the most underrated group on their defense

The Las Vegas Raiders have revamped the roster on the defensive side of the ball, but the linebacker group remains an underrated unit. Like the Raiders offense, the Raiders defense is expected to be much improved under the direction of a new staff. After all, the Raiders are expected to have that defense that has been the missing link for so many years to accompany their offense.

Raiders offensive line continues to be huge question mark entering July

There is a lot to like about the Las Vegas Raiders offense, but entering July, there are still serious questions about the offensive line. It has been an outstanding offseason for the Las Vegas Raiders, as they have added elite talent on both sides of the ball. On offense, the additions were huge from a weapons standpoint, as the Silver and Black added arguably the best wide receiver in football in Davante Adams via a trade.

Raiders News: Darren Waller and Davante Adams named Top 5 offensive duo

Part of the reason why there has been so much excitement about the Las Vegas Raiders acquiring Davante Adams is that he and Darren Waller can form one of the most dangerous wide receiver and tight end combinations in the entire NFL. Adams is arguably the league’s top wideout while Waller is also considered one of the best players at his position. Put them together on the same offense and defenses are essentially put in a “pick your poison” situation.

One rookie from each NFL team who will surprise in 2022

Every team expects a lot out of their top picks in the NFL draft, but they won’t be the only rookies who contribute in Year 1. There will be first-year players who emerge as valuable starters or key role players at some point this season. It’s just difficult to predict which rookies will be the ones to step up and surprise both fans and analysts. The NFL Wire network went team by team and selected one rookie who could be a pleasant surprise in 2022, highlighting players on an upward trajectory.
http://dlvr.it/SSmjnr

Davante Adams and Darren Waller named one of the NFL's top duos

With the addition of Davante Adams, the Raiders now have one of the most well-balanced groups of skill players in the NFL. Adams is arguably the best outside receiver in the league and Darren Waller is one of the most dynamic flex tight ends in the league. Plus, the Raiders have two other Pro Bowlers in Hunter Renfrow and Josh Jacobs that are entering the primes of their careers. But Adams and Waller are what will make this offense thrive in 2022. In a recent article by Kambui Bomani of Pro Football Focus, he named some of the top NFL duos heading into the 2022 season. That list included Adams and Waller, which is the best WR-TE duo in the league. Here is what he had to say about the pairing entering their first season together: “Injuries marred Waller’s 2021 season en route to his lowest offensive grade in four years (69.7). When he’s healthy, Waller is one of the league’s most talented receiving weapons, boasting the third-best tight end WAR figure since 2019 (1.19). Meanwhile, new teammate Davante Adams owns the top WAR mark among wide receivers since 2017 (2.73) and seems destined to continue his greatness alongside quarterback Derek Carr, who he played with at Fresno State. Expect Adams and Waller to emerge as one of the premier WR/TE duos this upcoming season.” Assuming the offensive line can hold up for the Raiders, it’s going to be awfully hard for opponents to stop this offense. They just have too many players on offense that excel in beating man-to-man coverage and Derek Carr has always been excellent at finding the open receiver. It’s tough to find any receiving duo that is more proven and dynamic than Adams and Waller going into the 2022 season. Waller: Davante Adams Setting the Standard on Offense

Raiders TE Darren Waller has one of the most team-friendly contracts in NFL

The Raiders handed out a ton of money this offseason, paying players like Derek Carr, Maxx Crosby, Davante Adams and Chandler Jones. They even signed Hunter Renfrow to a reasonable contract extension this offseason, as well. But what current contract on their books is among the best in the NFL? In a recent article by Brad Spielberger of Pro Football Focus, he wrote about the top 32 veteran contracts in the NFL heading into the 2022 season. Coming in at No. 3 was the contract extension for Darren Waller, which will pay him $14 million over the next two seasons. Here is a small snippet of Spielberger’s thoughts on that deal and why it’s so team-friendly for the Raiders: “The top of the position market has failed to grow beyond George Kittle’s $15 million per year average, but a second-tier continues to flourish, with the most recent addition being Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku on a four-year, $54.75 million extension. Waller has more receiving yards over his past 27 regular-season games than Njoku has in 65 career contests, but the Raider now earns about half as much annually. That should change in the near future.” Since Waller became the team’s starting tight end at the start of the 2019 season, he’s averaged an incredible 70 receiving yards per game. That trails only Travis Kelce and George Kittle during that timespan. Not only is he one of the most dynamic receiving tight ends in the league, but he is also one of the most consistent from game to game. As long as Waller can stay healthy, he should have another monster season for the Raiders. And with the addition of Davante Adams and the emergence of Hunter Renfrow, this could be his best season yet in terms of efficiency and production. The Raiders know that Waller has outplayed his contract, so expect them to figure something out before the season begins. Regardless, it’s hard to argue that there are many better contracts in the entire league than the current deal with Waller and the Raiders. Darren Waller says it could be a 'fun year' for Raiders offense with WR Davante Adams in the fold

The Raiders’ surprise acquisition of wide receiver Davante Adams was a showstopper this offseason, causing a huge commotion within NFL circles worldwide. And it was a lot of fun for Raiders fans and followers, too. But the best part? We haven’t even begun to see what Adams can do in a Las Vegas uniform. Okay, actually, that’s perhaps not the best part about the Raiders’ new football reality. Upon further thought, it’s that Adams isn’t alone on the Raiders offense. He joins playmakers Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller, along with quarterback and leader, Derek Carr, among others. As for Waller, he recently said that Adams’ megastar ability and work ethic is inspiring. From a player who has battled addiction and grown from late-round pick to megastar in his own right, that’s quite a statement. Here’s part of what Waller said about Adams while appearing on The Jim Rome Show. “He brings megastar ability. And the defense can’t help but notice and send the troops at a guy like that, you know?” Waller said. “But it’s also about getting to know him. [He has] a very calm demeanor — a guy that doesn’t need somebody to set a standard for excellence for him. He’s going to go and do it. So, definitely inspiring to be around.” As for a gameday preview, Waller said that the Raiders offense, with its complementary set of skill players, could have a fun year in 2022. He cautioned, however, that it will take a level of unselfishness from his teammates to truly unlock their potential as a group. “We have a lot of guys that can really get things done,” Waller said. “As long as guys stay in the game and bring a level of unselfishness to it, and see the value in how you run your route to get somebody else open, I feel like there will be incredible balance and it’ll be a fun year, especially for our side of the ball.” While Waller is correct to point out the importance of teamwork, I think it’s safe to say that Waller himself will be a leader in that department. His play has drastically outgrown his contract, which makes him the 17th highest-paid tight end in the NFL. Waller is considered by many a top-3 tight end and had 107 receptions just two seasons ago. But Waller is all in on the Raiders in 2022. When he was asked about his contract at OTAs, he brushed right past the issue and said he’s focused on football. Though Waller is the ultimate professional and focuses on the task at hand no matter the scenario, the addition of Adams likely has him paying even closer attention. The Raiders got a taste of the NFL Playoffs last year, and to hear the team talk during OTAs, they want more. And it’s clear that Adams could be a key to unlocking a juggernaut on offense for the Raiders, along with new coach Josh McDaniels and his Super Bowl-tested playbook. So while Raider Nation had a blast when Las Vegas acquired megastar Davante Adams, the real fun is slated to start in September when the Raiders put all their elite pieces together and face the Chargers in Week 1 of the upcoming NFL season. Raiders aren't projected to have much cap space over next three seasons

The Raiders spent a ton of cap dollars this year, giving brand new extensions to several key players. They are clearly trying to win now and have thrown caution to the wind when it comes to their future. But how does their cap situation compare to the rest of the league over the next few years? In a recent article by Brad Spielberger of Pro Football Focus, he took a look at every team’s projected cap space over the next three seasons and potential free agents. The Raiders did not score well here, ranking at No. 29 in effective cap space. Here is what Spielberger had to say about the cap health for the Raiders through the 2024 season: “The Raiders arguably have more pressure to perform than any team in the NFL entering the 2022 campaign, as the team has lofty expectations after a playoff bid was followed by massive acquisitions of wide receiver Davante Adams and edge defender Chandler Jones in addition to extensions for quarterback Derek Carr and edge defender Maxx Crosby. Both extensions are very team-friendly, and, in theory, could set up the team for years to come.” You have to admire the front office for being willing to spend the cap space and go all-out for the next few years. They are trying to win and they want to win now. If that happens, they will look like geniuses. If not, they’ll have a big mess to clean up. But the goal is to win the Super Bowl, right? So why not go all-in? Gallery 100+ best images of Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow view 112 images Email Sign up Like this article? Could the Las Vegas Raiders have two 100-plus catch wideouts in 2022?

The stage is set for the Las Vegas Raiders to be quite explosive on offense next season, but could they have two wideouts catch 100 balls in 2022?
