Another Team Cuts Titans' Draft Bust

The decision to add him to the 2022 roster was made before that franchise hired a new head coach (Josh McDaniels) and general manager (Dave Ziegler). The new brain trust apparently does not want to even give him a look. Poutasi spent all of last season on the Raiders’ practice squad but did not see any game action.

Mariota fits what the Lions are trying to do at quarterback. Raiders NFL Draft Prospect: Tyler Linderbaum, Iowa

Linderbaum does need to work on not overrunning his target when he gets to the second level, and he can improve his hand technique when rushers use moves on stunts. Center is the only position he'll likely be able to play in the NFL due to his size, and there is a question on how he could adjust to a scheme that doesn't perfectly suit every one of his strengths.

Raiders News: Derek Carr weighs in on Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler

Part of the reason the Las Vegas Raiders hired former New England Patriots offensive coordinator and director of player personnel Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler as their head coach and general manager was that they have big plans for quarterback Derek Carr. It’s been reported that both McDaniels and Ziegler think highly of Carr and want to build around him, as rumors have surfaced about an impending contract extension for the eight-year veteran.

Should the Raiders consider trading pick No. 22 for Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf?

The Raiders are in need of an outside receiver this offseason. That is not up for debate. They need someone who can stretch the defense and keep teams from loading up the box to stop the run. But how they go about finding that receiver is a bit of a question mark. The expectation is that the Raiders will use the No. 22 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft to find their next big-play receiver. But considering how far back they select in this year’s class, it might not be possible for them to get a field stretcher that late in Round 1. But what about using the No. 22 pick to acquire a proven receiver via a trade? In a recent article by Michael Shawn-Dugar of The Athletic, he believes that the Seahawks would consider trading Pro Bowl receiver D.K. Metcalf for a Round 1 pick. Here are his thoughts on that possibility below: “The only realistic option is receiver DK Metcalf, whose contract expires after the 2022 season. Since entering the league as a second-round pick in 2019, Metcalf among receivers ranks fifth in receiving touchdowns (29), 10th in receiving yards (3,170) and 17th in receptions (216). He doesn’t turn 25 until December. Seattle would have no problem finding someone willing to give up a first-round pick — perhaps an early one — for the right to acquire Metcalf and sign him to an extension that pays him like one of the best players at his position (about $22 million per year).” The Raiders certainly have the cap space to acquire someone like Metcalf and they would have no problem giving him an extension. With Metcalf on the roster, their offense would have all the pieces to compete with teams like the Chargers and the Chiefs. The Raiders would still have all of their picks on Day 2 and Day 3 to improve the offensive line and their depth on defense, but they would now have a legitimate deep threat who could scare teams down the field. If the price is only a single first-round pick for Metcalf, the Raiders would be foolish not to explore a potential trade. Raiders to hire Kennedy Polamalu as running backs coach

The Raiders continue building their coaching staff. They are in the phase of naming position coaches now. The latest is the addition of former Vikings RB coach Kennedy Polamalu to the same position. The #Raiders are expected to hire Kennedy Polamalu as their running backs coach, source said. Polamalu spent the past five seasons in Minnesota, where he was well-regarded. — Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) February 22, 2022 If his name sounds familiar it’s because he’s the uncle of Hall of Fame safety Troy Polamalu. And he gets his first name from John F Kennedy because he was born on the day Kennedy was assassinated. Kennedy Polamalu has spent the past five seasons coaching the running backs in Minnesota where three times in that time his rushing attack was among the best in the league, either in yards, yards per carry, or touchdowns. In his first year on the job, the Vikings were top ten in yards and touchdowns. Leading the way was former Raiders RB Latavius Murray. The past three seasons, Dalvin Cook has carried the load, rushing for over 1000 yards each season. In 2019 the Vikings were 11th in yards per carry and sixth in touchdowns. And in 2020 they were fourth in yards and seventh in touchdowns. Polamalu has been coaching running backs since 1994, beginning at San Diego State. By 2000, the former USC fullback was coaching for his alma mater while his nephew Troy was playing for the Trojans. The year after Troy entered the NFL ranks, so too did Kennedy, becoming the RB coach in Cleveland in 2004. From there he would coach running backs in Jacksonville for six years before heading back to USC to become the offensive coordinator. He would later be the OC and RB coach at UCLA before returning to the NFL with the Vikings. List Raiders potential 2022 offseason cuts and cap casualties Email Sign up Like this article? Raiders bring back Shaun Herock as personnel advisor to the General Manager

Shaun was the team’s director of college scouting for seven years (2012-18). And now he’s back in a new role.
