Two of the Raiders three wide receiver spots are settled. The third starting job is not. Today the Raiders added one more veteran competitor for that job, signing former Jets and Jaguars WR Keelan Cole to a one-year deal according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Cole isn’t exactly the speed demon the Raiders could use at receiver, but he’s been productive and started 11 games last season in New York. And finding speedy deep threats isn’t exactly the easiest thing to do in mid-May.
The 6-1, 194-pounder has a decent 14.4 yards per reception with 13 touchdowns over his five NFL seasons.
It’s important also to take his stats into consideration when figuring the lack of quality passers on the Jaguars and Jets during these past five years.
Cole is expected to compete with the the likes of Demarcus Robinson, Tyron Johnson, and Bryan Edwards at outside receiver across from Davante Adams. Cole would also potentially backup Hunter Renfrow in the slot, as he has scored seven of his 13 NFL touchdowns from the inside.
