Struggling Raiders and Bengals will try to turn their seasons around when they meet in Cincinnati
CINCINNATI -- - Approaching the halfway point of the season, the Las Vegas Raiders and Cincinnati Bengals are underperforming teams still searching for some kind of identity. Both have struggled to run the ball, with the Bengals and Raiders 28th and 31st, respectively, in rushing yards in the league. Las Vegas (2-6) finished its 27-20 loss to the Chiefs with only 33 yards on the ground, an average of 1.6 per carry. Alexander Mattison ran the ball 14 times for 15 yards.

Raiders' Antonio Pierce makes brutally honest admission on Luke Getsy's play-calling
The Las Vegas Raiders have not performed well offensively this season, and that is a large contributing factor when it comes to the team's current 2-6 record. The Raiders are No. 26 in points, No. 29 in yards and No. 31 in giveaways, and head coach Antonio Pierce spoke on Luke Getsy's impact on the unit, saying he has to be better, despite the fact that he is sticking with him as a play-caller. “Yeah, I think it has to get better,” Antonio Pierce said, according to Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk.

NFL Week 9 power rankings roundup: Raiders' running woes among common complaints
After a 27-20 loss this past Sunday versus AFC West rival Kansas City, the Las Vegas Raiders have now lost four straight. It’s the first four-game losing streak for the Raiders since the 2019 NFL season.
The Raiders (2-6) will look to stop that skid with a trip to Paycor Stadium to take on the Cincinnati Bengals (3-5) on Sunday.
In order to end up on the right side of the equation this week, the Raiders have to find more in the running game. Las Vegas averaged just 1.57 yards per carry against the Chiefs.
It’s the second time this season that Las Vegas has averaged less than 2 yards per rushing attempt. The other instance came in the Raiders’ 26-23 Week 2 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
Per Paul Gutierrez and ESPN research, every other NFL team combined this season has just two instances where they finished a game averaging less than 2 yards per rushing attempt.
As the Raiders seek to dig themselves out of this four-game slide, it has repercussions in perceptions nationally. The NFL Week 9 power rankings roundup paints a picture where the Raiders are trying to stave off the league’s cellar.
Take a look at where the Raiders rank according to various Week 9 NFL power rankings.

The Raiders had a legitimate chance on Sunday if they’d taken advantage after intercepting Patrick Mahomes near his own end zone while trailing 17-13. But the Chiefs made a goal-line stop, then put together a 19-play, 87-yard field-goal drive that took up nearly 10 minutes. Gardner Minshew coughed up a fumble two plays into the next possession, forcing a worn-out Las Vegas defense back on the field, after which the Chiefs put it away.
Two Raiders possessions reached the K.C. 4-yard line, and they only got three points out of them. Minshew is up to 11 turnovers this season, so it will be interesting to see how Antonio Pierce handles the QB position this week at the Bengals. With Aidan O’Connell on injured reserve, the only realistic option besides Minshew is Desmond Ridder, who technically didn’t do anything Sunday but was on the field for one third-quarter play that resulted in a false start. If Ridder is given a shot, maybe the former Cincinnati Bearcat can tap into some of the college magic he spun in the Queen City to spark the Raiders.

Is Raider Nation Sleeping on Tom Brady's Organizational Impact?
The only good news for the Las Vegas Raiders this season seems to be off the football field. The Raiders are having a season that players, coaches, and Raider Nation did not expect. It is surprising to many how this football team is underperforming. Perhaps the best thing to happen for the Silver and Black is the addition of Tom Brady as a minority owner.

Bills and Raiders trade proposal sends $7 million defender to Buffalo
With the Las Vegas Raiders in the midst of a lost season at 2-6 and in last place in the AFC West, general manager Tom Telesco should be looking to sell off as many pieces as possible in order to get more draft capital to help with the retool or rebuild the Raiders are set to embark on in 2025. One player who could get traded at the deadline is linebacker Robert Spillane, who is in the last year of his two-year, $7 million contract. One team that could have interest is the Buffalo Bills, which is something Sporting News' Vinnie Iyer floated recently. "The Bills should stay aggressive and try to fill their big hole on the second level with this other key defensive star in Las Vegas," Iyer wrote.

The Kansas City Chiefs are 7-0 after a road win over the Las Vegas Raiders, keeping KC as the NFL's only undefeated team. Which players put their best performances on the field in Las Vegas? Raiders PFF grades: 5 highest rated Week 8 vs. Chiefs
Sometimes even when you play well, it’s just not your day.
That could apply to many on the Raiders roster after their close loss to the Chiefs on Sunday. According to Pro Football Focus, quarterback Gardner Minshew tops the list.
Minshew earned the highest grade on the team from PFF, topping out with a 77.3 score. Unfortunately, his fumble in the fourth quarter ruined the Raiders’ last realistic chance for a victory. Minshew’s grade was bolstered by a touchdown drive later in the game after Kansas City had essentially secured the win.
Minshew’s top two targets, wide receiver Jakobi Meyers and tight end Brock Bowers, are next on PFF’s weekly list.
The highest-graded Raiders in Week 8 vs the Chiefs:
Gardner Minshew – 77.3
Jakobi Meyers – 75.3
Brock Bowers – 73.7
Tyree Wilson – 73.6
K'Lavon Chaisson – 70.3 pic.twitter.com/VxUz0YfYlN
— PFF Las Vegas Raiders (@PFF_Raiders) October 28, 2024
Two defensive ends, Tyree Wilson and K’Lavon Chaisson round out this week’s top five. Wilson had the Raiders’ only QB sack of the game and added a tackle for loss and a QB hit. Chaisson had four total tackles and a QB hit of his own, one of just three for Las Vegas.
Despite Minshew’s high score, it will be interesting to see whether coach Antonio Pierce decides to give recently acquired quarterback Desmond Ridder a shot at starting at some point this season. Despite his solid play at times, Minshew’s turnovers continue to hold his team back.
Also, it’s disappointing that DE Maxx Crosby is not on this list. He had just three tackles and didn’t touch Mahomes all game. No running backs or offensive linemen appear either, reflecting Las Vegas’ historically poor rushing attack.
The Raiders face the Bengals on Sunday before their bye week arrives in Week 10. The franchise may have to decide whether to try its hardest to win games or embrace this team’s shortcomings to secure a high draft pick so it can draft a talented quarterback it can build around.

Chiefs Activate WR Montrell Washington for Week 8 vs. Raiders
With a wide receiver room that's banged up, the Kansas City Chiefs are adding a reinforcement ahead of Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Per an announcement from the team on its official X account, Kansas City has activated wideout Montrell Washington for Week 8 via Standard Elevation. Washington, 25, is currently in his second season with the Chiefs. The former Denver Broncos fifth-round NFL Draft pick has hung around the organization for the last year-plus after originally signing with their practice squad back in August of 2023.

QB Desmond Ridder embracing Raiders opportunity
Desmond Ridder, already on his third team in less than a year, choked up and fought back tears inside the Las Vegas Raiders' locker room Wednesday afternoon. Signed off the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad less than 48 hours earlier, Ridder was asked about the opportunity at hand, if he had a chip on his shoulder, and his mind went to his 3-year-old daughter. "Daddy, where are you going?'" Ridder recounted her asking, as his eyes glistened. Ridder, a third-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons at No. 74 in the 2022 draft, caught himself.

Eagles Blockbuster Trade Proposal Lands $94 Million Superstar From Raiders
The Philadelphia Eagles have what it takes to contend this season but could use another boost on the edge before the National Football League trade deadline passes on Nov. 5. Philadelphia is right there. The Eagles are 4-2 and have won their last two games without allowing a defensive touchdown. Philadelphia's bye week couldn't have come at a better time, as the Eagles were 2-2 and clearly struggling.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Gardner Minshew Kansas City Chiefs Week
The Las Vegas Raiders (2-5) are hosting the Super Bowl champions and a perfect 6-0 Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium. The Raiders don't have time to even think about that. WR Jakobi Meyers will return, and that is excellent news for the Silver and Black anemic offense, but is it enough? QB Gardner Minshew held his weekly press conference today.

Brady Fired Up to Be a Minority Owner of Raiders

Brady could bring a new perspective to the team that could infuse some life into the organization.

Chiefs Full of Respect for Raiders DE Maxx Crosby Entering Week 8 Matchup
It's a rivalry that's as old as time in NFL terms, and it's renewed this weekend as the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders will duke it out on Sunday. Week 8's matchup will see a pair of AFC West squads go at it, featuring two of the league's best players attempting to lead their teams to a win. On Kansas City's side, Patrick Mahomes has no issue finding a bit of extra motivation during Raider week. For Las Vegas, defensive end Maxx Crosby remains the face of the franchise as the club has struggled out of the gate.

Final NFL 2024 Week 7 Observations...With Dolphins Angles
It was a rough Week 7 for quarterbacks on the Miami Dolphins schedule. It was a very painful outing for San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy, who had the worst start of his young career against the Kansas City Chiefs, though it didn't help that he didn't have Christian McCaffrey or Deebo Samuel and then lost Brandon Aiyuk to a season-ending knee injury in the second quarter. It literally was painful for the Cleveland Browns' Deshaun Watson and the Las Vegas Raiders' Aidan O'Connell, who left their games against Cincinnati and the Los Angeles Rams with a torn Achilles tendon and broken thumb, respectively. The offshoot for the Dolphins is that when they face the Raiders at Hard Rock Stadium on Nov.

The Raiders host a Kansas City Chiefs team this Sunday that seems to spend every game finding a new way to win. The Raiders also had at least three turnovers in each game. “We've got to stop beating ourselves with turnovers, with penalties,” coach Antonio Pierce said Monday.
